In this captivating series, we delve into the turbulent era of the French Revolution and its far-reaching aftermath. We’ll examine the striking works of Neoclassical artists, who portrayed powerful, idealized, and often sensual bodies to convey bold political messages. Simultaneously, we’ll explore the era’s fashion icons—the queens and empresses of France—whose sartorial choices became potent symbols of political expression and cultural identity.

Join us as we study the masterpieces of Jacques-Louis David, Jean-Dominique Ingres, Jean-Germain Drouais, and Caspar David Friedrich, alongside the influential styles of Marie Antoinette, Joséphine de Beauharnais, and Empress Eugénie.
